Before I get to the 15 blog posts that I have nominated for this award, I would just like to say a HUGE thank you to Emily of Holden Down The Fort for taking the time to read my submissions and nominating me for the Blogger Recognition Award! I have only recently re-entered the world of blogging, so this was totally unexpected and a wonderful surprise indeed!
I stopped writing for about 2 years and decided recently that the time was right for me to jump back in, so I am thrilled to know that my blog is being appreciated by others already – there is no value that can be placed on such positive public recognition, especially from other bloggers
There are a few very simple rules to follow when accepting this reward –
1. I must thank the Blogger who nominated me and provide a link to their blog.
2. I must write a post to show the award.
3. I must write a brief story on how my blog started.
4. I must to give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
5. I must select 15 bloggers to pass this award on to.
6. I must comment on each of their blogs to let them know they have been nominated for this award and provide a link to this post.
How my blog started
Several years ago I launched an e-zine called “Inspire” (https://issuu.com/inspirevirtualmag/docs) which I produced from cover to cover - every second month. I loved it but between running my business and raising my child, I found that it was simply too much on my plate, so I finally made the very difficult decision to put it to bed and say “goodbye”. I missed doing some of the writing though, so I decided that I would continue to write – but with a little more freedom than an “e-zine” offers – and that was when I launched Rock Your World.
Advice to new bloggers
Well I think I would consider myself a new blogger too, but if I was to offer any advice it would be that your blog should be authentic. Don’t write for the sake of publishing a post – write because you have something to say and you want to share it. People have instinctive radar for “bubblegum” posts and in my opinion, unless you have quality content with a bit of meat, people will lose interest fairly quickly.
My second piece of advice would be – have fun! I read a quote once that said “write drunk, edit sober”. I literally laughed out loud when I read that. There is an element of truth in it because when you are relaxed and “having fun”- all your creative juices flow, which in turn results in some great writing. Don’t take this advice verbatim – I am not saying you need to write drunk, lol – but I am saying that FUN should be a forefront objective…. And hell, if you want to write drunk, go right ahead – but in that instance, PLEASE follow the full piece of advice and edit sober – before publishing. Haha!
My 15 nominees - and in no specific order are:

A very insightful and truthful piece which is applicable to so many facets of life. Without passion, it all means nothing.
