By default, people are so damn impatient. They want it all - and they want it yesterday!
I deal with it every day in my business, as the print industry is exceptionally time sensitive. Nine times out of ten people do not plan their requirements adequately in advance, and therefore 99% of our production orders processed are “extremely urgent”.
Being an outspoken and honest individual is not always easy. For as long as I can remember, my inability to filter certain thoughts and/or opinions has often gotten me into trouble as well as in the middle of some rather heated discussions.
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend - Melody Beattie
I can remember the morning that my life and my perspective on absolutely EVERYTHING changed forever! I literally opened my eyes that day and everything made sense to me. I no longer just understood the words of the things I had read or seen - I suddenly FELT them!
As I stood in the shower this evening and internally repeated a conversation I had with my partner earlier this morning, I started thinking about all the trouble and effort that women go through on a daily basis…
To fill you in briefly on the conversation… the man in my life is a DJ, so he mostly works nights and sleeps the mornings and sometimes the days away. In addition to this, he is probably one of the most easy going “min ge spin” people I have ever met. (it’s an Afrikaans, South African term for: not phased about anything)
School was NEVER my thing! I simply did not fit in! – In a way, that is sad, because my parents sacrificed a lot in order for me to attend one of the top High Schools in the country and in all honesty, I wasted the opportunity.
But... that was not to be my path!
Much like your house needs to be cleaned "literally" on a regular basis, it also needs to be cleaned energetically. Energy in certain spaces can build up a "residue" if you will, and the energy in that space becomes stagnant after a while - which can have several negative effects on the people who enter that space.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH YOUR LIFE...IF YOU KNEW YOU COULDN'T FAIL?! Would your circumstance and/or situation be any different to what and where it currently is?
Kalk Bay is one of those places, that no matter how often you visit - it just never gets old...It is such an enormously CHARACTER filled little suburb, you could literally lose yourself for hours, simply exploring...
I recently wrote a post about Energy Vampires, and it would appear that a lot more people are familiar with it than I initially anticipated. One of the reader’s who commented on the post, asked how to “deal with” the matter – so I promised to write another post on how to guard yourself against “Energy Vampires”.
OK people - we are living in the 21st century here - and I am getting a little tired of hearing the below:
• I really don't want to see that
• oh my word you post so often
• wow, that is so offensive
• I am leaving this group because the notifications are soooo annoying
• My news feed is so full of rubbish
Yesterday I attended a child’s birthday party which turned into a completely distorted bully fest among the mothers sitting around the table – well, to be more specific, I was the mother who had made a responding statement and one of the other mothers decided to use this as an opportunity to jump on to a bullying pulpit – whilst the rest of them simply sat there with mouths full of teeth.
I cannot speak for people in other parts of the world (specifically first world countries…) but where I live – Cape Town, South Africa - good customer service has become so scarce that you often end up selecting a preferred place of business with higher prices, simply because it is more likely that you will get served by somebody who actually, might, just possibly, maaaaay have the actual qualifications to have earned their position in the first place… (and this is NOT always the case even then!)
Despite popular belief, strong people have weak moments too and (here's the shocker) they too, need reassurance from time to time.
Some days are diamonds and others are...well... not! And what matters in the end I suppose, is how you handle the latter.
First of all, let me say – that I know little to nothing about Steemit (not in the grand scheme of things anyway), I have absolutely nothing worth talking about in my wallet and I am definitely not a whale, in fact I don’t think I could even refer to myself as a dolphin… I am probably a little closer to plankton at this point… haha!
A little while ago, I shared the story of my weekly roses with you,
...and I am going to sit here and say it! Yes! I am proud of myself for every road I have traveled in my life thus far! I am a graphic designer by trade and have been self employed since the year 2000. As anybody who is self employed will know - it comes with enormous challenges!
I was shown a movie once where people lived in a world where it was IMPOSSIBLE to lie and it made me smile from the inside out because it was such an accurate depiction of the human race and everything is it NOT!! As a simple example - In the REAL world, if someone you know didn't like your outfit, they would probably think precisely that, but would still tell you how nice you looked. In this movie however, they told you how crap they thought you looked. hehe!! - It was amusingly BRUTAL!
Are our bodies merely vessels comprised of skin and bone with which we “randomly” roam, or are they symbolic representations of our soul?
I am inclined to lean toward the latter.
As a tech junkie, a graphic designer by trade and a person that keeps relatively current when it comes to all matters technology, I have never had to live with the problem of being "an illiterate" when it comes to computers and tech related topics. So needless to say, what is often self-explanatory to me - is NOT to many people, especially those that fall into the parental generation.
I can remember a time in my life when I won an award for the best speaker in the school. Public speaking (and speaking in general, lol) came very naturally when I was young… and whilst I still find the road to my platform on occasion these days (when it’s emotionally driven), in general I avoid it. I attended a business networking meeting a while back and “walls closing in on me” would be an understatement of how I felt standing up in front of a mere 30 odd people. …Nerve wrecking comes to mind.
